✨POV✨: You're desperately looking for ways to relieve symptoms of depression. Even cures (praying they exist). And that's why you're here, looking for some answers.
Is There a Depression Cure? 👼🏻
We have some good news and some bad news.
❎ The bad news is that there is no one cure for depression.
Sorry folks, but hold on, let's skip to the good part.
✅ The good news is that there are many (and yes, many) treatments for depression out there.

We have more options than ever before, to fit exactly our type of depression and mental health concerns. So do not fret when we say there is no cure.
And trust us on this, it is better this way because depression is such a subjective experience. The combinations of our life stories, triggers, experiences, coping mechanisms, and depression symptoms are all unique. So the only way to heal and treat depression for us is also unique.
A standard textbook solution to depression (a cure) will not work for us, as it shouldn't because as much as having to deal with depression and its triggers suck, they also help us become more resilient to the world as we heal and grow. We're thrown into uncharted waters (because, sigh, neither life nor the world is fair) and learn to conquer the territory over time. That's our unique journey of healing - to uncover & hone our very unique strengths.
What to Know About Treating Depression ❤️🩹
The most reassuring fact about depression is that it is treatable, without a shred of doubt. It's only a matter of seeking the right help, kick-starting the journey, and then, taking one step at a time.

A depression treatment depends on the intensity of our depression, type, symptoms, triggers, and our current state of feeling & coping. That's our ground zero. Once the process of treating depression begins with the most appropriate and accessible form of help, there is no looking back. It's up and up and up.
On some days it can feel like we're back to square one, when we think, ‘I cannot stop crying when I’m upset’, but trust that all the effort we're putting in is taking us forward (even if it's the tiniest of steps or vents every once in a while). The journey of healing from depression is not linear. Some days it'll be harder to exercise healthy coping mechanisms and on others, it'll feel impossible. But remember, that's all part of the deal.
A little back and forth never hurt anyone. All we need to remember is that taking a step back every once in a while does not mean that we're closer to the beginning of the tunnel than to the light at the end of it.

Note on Mental Disorders 🚩
Clinical depression can be of many different types - moderate depression, severe depression (aka major depression or major depressive disorder), treatment-resistant depression, or more. If you have symptoms of clinical depression or thoughts of self-harm, please use the national suicide prevention lifeline or contact a mental health professional to seek treatment options.
Antidepressant medications (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) may be prescribed in the case of severe symptoms, in combination with a form of therapy such as interpersonal therapy, electroconvulsive therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation or progressive muscle relaxation techniques, based on severity and type of depression. A holistic treatment option is the complementary and integrative health approach, which combines conventional and unconventional therapies.
