✨POV✨: It’s pretty interesting what our homes can make us feel. One day can feel serene and the next, anxiousness x 100. Can we still keep it together when our homes don't feel safe anymore?
What does anxiousness feel like, anyway? 🥶
Know that vague, unpleasant feeling of intense fear and worry that just won't quit even when there’s nothing too terrifying happening?
Sigh. That, my friend, can be the surging anxiety you’re feeling.
The weird part?
Anxiousness can hit any time, and at any place, especially before anticipated events.
Wondering what could be triggering yours?
Well, it can look different for each one of us.
It could probably be negative thoughts or our ongoing battle with low self-esteem.
It could also be this hustle culture we’re part of that’s triggering our anxiety by stressing us out.

Regardless, where does that leave us?
With physical symptoms of anxiety that can even be chronic for some of us.
Oh, what do they look like?
Ever felt that unexplainable chest pain?
Or repeated episodes of heart palpitations that make us too anxious to sleep?
Yup - those are some of the physical symptoms that people with anxiety experience.
Now imagine going through this with 0 space at home to find calm.
This is when a safe space helps make all the difference.
A place where we can be and feel all the emotions - without the fear of judgment or sympathy - does help with the healing process.
How to create a safe space from scratch in your home 😊
Here are 3 ways to do it easily:
🧹 KonMari the clutter in your room
This is one of the easiest things you can do to create a safe space for yourself.
Anxiety thrives when there's chaos surrounding us.
A messy space can make us feel overwhelmed and uneasy.
We may not know it consciously but this clutter adds to the clutter in our minds.

While you’re at it, want to check out how to clear the clutter in your mind too? There’s a mini session on being called just that - I want to untangle the chaos in my mind. Cheggit out!
Also, isn't it satisfying to see an organized, cute space?
🎍 Add a succulent plant collection in your room
One of the best ways to bring life back into your space is through flowers and plants.
It helps to have something to care for even though it's a task of pure patience.
It not only adds life to our environment but the beauty helps ease our mind a little.
🤝 No room, no problem
In case a safe space in your room is out of the question for whatever reason, it doesn't mean all hope is gone.
What's important is to make sure that this space has all the things that make you feel happy and relaxed.
This can be anywhere from your garden, the terrace, or even the kitchen!

For us, people with anxiety disorders, all that matters is we have the space to be and breathe with no one to pry.
In the end? 🤗
Our anxiety or mental illness (basically, anything that affects our mood and behavior) can feel too debilitating if it is not countered with healthy coping habits.
Even with a safe space, it can feel exhausting having no one to vent to or having no outlet.
This could mean that you may need specific guidance through therapy.
